CTOR Academy is proud to announce that Cristina Teixeira, DMD, MS, PhD, has been appointed Executive Dean and faculty member, effective this fall.
Dr. Teixeira earned her DMD, Certificate in Orthodontics, MS in Oral Biology, and PhD in Developmental Biology at the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to serve as Assistant Professor and later Chair of the Department of Orthodontics at NYU College of Dentistry. Her NIH-funded research on skeletal growth and development, extensive publications, and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students highlight her impact in both science and education.
A leader in organized dentistry, Dr. Teixeira has held roles with the AAO, AAOF, NESO, and IADR. She co-founded the Orthodontic Research Group and has helped foster innovation and collaboration across the field. As a clinician-scientist, she is also the inventor of six patented technologies, three of which are in use by orthodontists worldwide.
Beyond her many accomplishments, Dr. Teixeira has been instrumental in establishing CTOR and later CTOR Academy as an accredited postgraduate program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Her leadership, vision, and energy will be invaluable as CTOR Academy continues its mission to transform orthodontic education, research, and patient care.
