The T. M. Graber Outstanding Article Award published in the Journal of the World Federation of Orthodontists was established to recognize the authors of an original article judged to be the outstanding article published in the preceding year.
CTOR's work, entitled "Biphasic sutural response is key to palatal expansion" has been selected for this prestigious award by the external review panel for the year 2020.
In this publication, the CTOR team clarifies the critical role of osteoclasts during palatal expansion as the first responders to the application of orthopedic forces, both tensile and compressive. This seminal work advances our understanding of the biology of dentofacial orthopedic therapy and has a significant impact in the way we treat our patients.
