Dr. Alikhani’s dedication to translation of research findings into clinic applications brought him to NIH three times in 2019, each time to review grant applications to the Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer Program. This funding mechanism was created to stimulate collaboration between industry and non-profit research institutions to transfer discoveries into commercialized technology for the benefit of patients.
