December 2013 - CTOR, with the New York State Section of the American Association for Dental Research (NY-AADR), sponsored its First CTOR Award at the 2013 Greater New York Dental Meeting. Over 40 dental students from the US Eastern region competed for the Outstanding Translational Dental Research award. Twelve finalists were selected, and 3 students received First, Second and Third place award including a certificate and monetary gift.

November 2013 - The latest publication from CTOR features clinical research on accelerated tooth movement. The article, "Effect of Micro-osteoperforations on the Rate of Tooth Movement," was published in the November 2013 issue of the AJODO.

November 2013 - Dr. Mani Alikhani, CTOR Program Director, lectured at Peking University School of Stomatology, and at the Orthodontic Clinical Summit of Chinese Tweed Center. Meanwhile, Dr. Cristina Teixeira lectured in South Korea at Yeosei, Ewha Womens', and Seoul National University, and in Malaysia at University of Malaya, International Medical University, UiTM MARA, and Malaysia Dental Association. Drs. Alikhani and Teixeira also met and interviewed prospective CTOR Fellows.

April 2013 - Drs. Asma Almaidhan, Bandar Alyami, Luz Maria Barrera Alviar and Mohamed Karkuri all received recognition for their translational research projects at NYU's Research Day 2013. Congratulations to all of them!
